PILGRIM DOOR KNOCKER
PILGRIM DOOR KNOCKER
"The scallop is a sign used along the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage walk that has been trekked by thousands of travellers over the centuries. Pilgrims could find welcome refuge by looking for the scallop sign affixed or painted on a doorway.
I had this shape cast from a scallop shell I had amongst my library of objects, waiting for its reincarnation into a door knocker so that guests & friends may feel welcome stepping up to your doorstep."
